Compliance monitoring of a corporate website: accessibility, privacy, quality, interactive activity |
Truwex is a single point out-of-the-box solution for corporate website compliance monitoring. It contains standard modules for main compliance areas: privacy, accessibility, website quality.
Privacy
Truwex features a set of rules which reveal issues with gathering, using, storing, and distributing personal identifiable information (PII). They help your company to comply with various online privacy regulations such as COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) or Privacy information rules of the US Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act
Privacy rules
- Tracking third party content such as hyperlinks, images, cookies, web beacons. Truwex detects all third party content including items set by JavaScripts executed in a browser window. Truwex creates a web page profile with all items actually loaded by Internet Explorer browser.
- Visitor tracking by cookies and web beacons. Truwex checks how the actual implementation matches stated website privacy policy.
- P3P policy and P3P compact policy usage and its correct format.
- Personal identifiable information (PII) analyses. Truwex tracks web forms which collect names, email, age and reports on them. There are special rules which check two two possible ways to reach compliance with COPPA requirements: complying with COPPA or not dealing with visitors below 13 years old.
- Privacy hyperlink URL and text correctness. Truwex detects a webpage language and verifies that privacy link exists, works, and has correct spelling in the specified language. For example, if a web page is in Spanish, the English privacy link, even if is it correct, may violate privacy requirements.

Accessibility
Web site accessible to people with disabilities attracts more visitors and facilitate information delivery to them. It is also important to comply with governments regulations such as The US Section 508 or UK Disability Discrimination Act.. Truwex helps to make a website accessible and to keep this state after updates. It tracks various problems such as missing alternative comments for images and other objects, insufficient text color contrast, or content that is difficult to reach by voice reader. Truwex also looks for issues in files linked to the main HTML document of a web page such as frames or CSS files.
- Checking the US Section 508 and WCAG 1.0 accessibility requirements
- Focus on the real issue detection rather than proposing a manual check
- Quick customization of standard issues to corporate requirements
- New abilities such as checking color contrast or scanning CSS for fixed fonts
Website quality and inventory
Truwex web quality module detects common problems of a website: broken links, broken anchors, invalid meta data, old pages, pages with JavaScript error pop-ups. Truwex also collects information about various objects of a website such as forms with inputs, images, hyperlinks.
